National High School Sports Analytics Summit 2025

NHSSAA held its second annual national sports analytics conference for high school students on March 8, 2025, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. The event featured keynote speeches from Michael Lewis (author of Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game), Aaron Schatz (chief analytics officer at FTN Network, creator of many widely used football stats such as DVOA, and NFL analyst for ESPN), and Shane Battier (2X NBA Champion, Founder of the Take Charge Foundation). Approximately 100 students from over 30 different high schools attended. Other sessions included a Q&A with Daryl Morey (President & GM of the Philadelphia 76ers); interactive case studies with Will Johnson and Simon Fisher, analysts for the New England Revolution; and four students presenting their own research in baseball, pickleball, basketball, and track & field.
